Packed Cidadela crowd highlights growing interest in futsal as Maculusso edge Coprat in decisive Luanda showdown
The 2026 Taça de Angola futsal competition delivered a standout moment in Luanda, as Maculusso faced Coprat in the Luanda Provincial Final at the Pavilhão Multiusos da Cidadela on 13 March 2026.

The match determined Luanda’s representative in the next phase of the competition and was widely regarded as one of the most important fixtures in the local futsal calendar. Played in front of what was described by local sources as a “full house,” the final generated a vibrant atmosphere inside one of Angola’s प्रमुख sporting venues.
While no official attendance figure was released, common in Angolan futsal, the Cidadela indoor pavilion is generally estimated to hold between 5,000 and 7,000 spectators. A full house would therefore suggest a crowd within that range, underlining the strong local support for the sport.
On the court, Maculusso secured a 6–4 victory over Coprat in a closely contested encounter, sealing the Luanda provincial title and progressing to the next stage of the Taça de Angola structure.
It is important to note that this fixture formed part of the provincial phase of the competition, with Angolan futsal currently structured in regional stages rather than a consistently held national final. As such, this match represented the culmination of the Luanda stage rather than a confirmed national final.
Beyond the result, the occasion highlighted the continued growth of futsal in Angola, with strong fan engagement and a packed venue reflecting increasing momentum for the sport at provincial level.
