The biggest success in AEK’s futsal history was achieved in the Champions League

The biggest success in its history was achieved by AEK in Futsal when they eliminated Naxcivan on penalties 4-3 (3-3 regular time and extra time) and qualified for the ” last 32″ of the UEFA Futsal Champions League!

AEK eliminated Araz Naxcivan on penalties 4-3 (3-3 regular time and extra time) and qualified for the ” last 32″ of the UEFA Futsal Champions League! The Greek Champions made an impressive appearance defeating the Azerbaijani Champions,  holding the flag of the Association, but also of Greece.

All the players gave their all and took a step forward for Greek futsal with this historic achievement, but special mention should go to Dimitris Theofilou for his performance throughout the match, but also in the penalties which he contributed the most.

The head of the Futsal department, Mr. Konstantinos Marinakis, the President of PAE AEK, Mr. Vangelis Aslanidis, and the President of AEK, Mr. Alexis Alexiou, attended the match and celebrated the historic qualification, and gave a warm congratulations to all the team for their great success after the end of the match.

AEK is now waiting for the last 32 draw which will be held on December 9, 2020, the 16 pairs knockout matches take place on 12-17 / 01/2021. AEK has already stated that if it is drawn as the host of the match, it wishes to have the opportunity to organize the match in Athens.
