Futsal Focus is often asked about futsal in New Zealand due to the country regularly being promoted as a benchmark for developing futsal nations.  New Zealand is respected by the futsal community for its efforts to grow the game, and the association put forward their own bid to host the FIFA Futsal World Cup but lost to Lithuania who will host the competition in 2021. However, we decided to reach out to our contacts in New Zealand to get an understanding of the sport’s development there.
