Congratulations to CJ & Emily Jones founders of Afrimeripean Futsal Club who won the Irish Football Associations’s Futsal Project of the Year Award

The club entered the Northern Irish National Futsal League in the 2019-20 season and in 2021 have already received great recognition for their work. The club gives the opportunity to not only play futsal but to meet people of different ethnicity within their community and their work in 2020 was recognized with this award.

Irish FA Futsal Project of the Year goes to CJ & Emily Jones of Afrimeripean Futsal Club

Afrimeripean is a multi-cultural futsal team are based in Co Armagh and their name represents the club’s players (Africans, Americans, Europeans). Afrimeripean’s first season was unfortunately cut short in March because of Covid-19. At the time they had advanced to the quarter-finals of the cup and had just come off the back of a string of good results in the league.

We also congratulate Chris Chambers of Glenavon and Conor Haughian of Lurgan Town FC, it is great to see these professional clubs using futsal at their club.
