The 2025 UEFA Futsal Champions League Final Four, held in Le Mans, France, brought together European futsal’s elite and ended with Palma Futsal’s remarkable treble and Jimbee Cartagena’s bronze medal on debut. Palma Futsal: Modern Masters of Europe
Palma Futsal delivered a masterclass in attacking futsal, dismantling Kairat Almaty 9–4 in the final at Antarès Arena to become the first team in history to win three UEFA Futsal Champions League titles in a row.
Coach Antonio Vadillo’s side started with high intensity and never let up. Keeper Luan Muller played a dual role, defending and launching counterattacks while forward Fabinho exploded in the second half, scoring four goals to bury Kairat’s hopes. Rivillos added to his UEFA title tally, and Neguinho, named Player of the Final, was a constant threat.
Speaking pre-match, Vadillo said: “A final is a final, and what happened before doesn’t matter. Statistics are nice, but the only thing that matters is the next game. We want to win another title, no matter what.”
This title not only extended Palma’s unbeaten streak to 24 UEFA matches, but also placed them alongside Movistar Inter and Barça as one of the most decorated clubs in modern European futsal. As El País noted, Palma are now “the modern history of the sport.”
Jimbee Cartagena: Bronze and Belief
Newcomers Jimbee Cartagena arrived in Le Mans as outsiders but left as one of the stories of the tournament. After losing a tightly contested 3–2 semi-final to Kairat, they bounced back to defeat Sporting Clube de Portugal for third place in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Cartagena led through goals by Motta and Waltinho before Sporting equalised. In the shootout, goalkeeper Chemi saved two penalties to secure a 3–1 win.
Chemi’s heroics capped a breakout campaign, and teammate Mellado captured the emotion after their narrow semi-final loss: “It’s hard to talk about a match in which we had the upper hand for long periods but it’s hard to win a Champions League semi-final when you miss so many chances.”
Midfielder Pablo Ramírez reflected on the bronze medal win simply: “This is a source of pride.”
Kairat Almaty & Sporting CP: Respect Earned
Despite the loss in the final, Kairat Almaty showed strength throughout the tournament. With scorers like Alisson Neves and Tomas Drahovský and a sharp semi-final performance, the Kazakh champions demonstrated their enduring presence at Europe’s top table.
Sporting Clube de Portugal, led by Nuno Dias, fell short of the podium but remained competitive in both fixtures. Zicky Té and Erick Mendonça had strong individual tournaments, but the Lisbon giants were edged out when it mattered most.

A New Era Ahead
With UEFA set to introduce a new format next season including two-legged ties from the Round of 16, the landscape of European futsal is poised to evolve further. Palma’s treble confirms their dominance, but Cartagena’s rise, Kairat’s consistency, and Sporting’s legacy point to even fiercer competition ahead.
With Palma and Cartagena both finishing on the podium, Spanish futsal once again reaffirmed its position at the pinnacle of the European club scene, a testament to the country’s deep investment in technical development, tactical evolution, and league competitiveness.
The 2025 edition was not just a conclusion, it was a forecast of the future of elite club futsal in Europe. And if Le Mans showed anything, it’s that the sport’s next generation is ready to write its own history.
