The path to the 2025 UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship is now set, as the preliminary and main round draws, held on October 31, have determined the group stages for January and March. These draws will decide the seven teams joining hosts Moldova at the finals in Chișinău.

Overview of the 2025 Championship
Thirty-six teams entered this year’s championship, with Moldova automatically qualified as hosts. The remaining 35 teams will compete for the seven remaining spots at the finals, held from September 28 to October 5 at Chișinău Arena. Portugal, the 2023 champions, returns alongside Spain, who won the inaugural tournaments in 2019 and 2022.
The top 25 nations, based on UEFA coefficients, advance directly to the main round in March. The remaining 10 teams will compete in January’s preliminary round for three final spots in the main round.
Meet the Contenders
- Portugal: Defending champions and 2022 runners-up, aiming to defend their title.
- Spain: Winners of the first two editions (2019, 2022), and 2023 runners-up.
- Croatia: 2019 runners-up and consistent participants in final tournaments.
- Ukraine: Semi-finalists in both 2022 and 2023.
- Slovenia: Reached the semi-finals in their debut finals appearance in 2023.
- Other previous participants hoping to return to the finals include Finland (2023), France (2022, 2023), Italy (2022, 2023), Latvia (2019 hosts), Netherlands (2019), and Romania (2022).
Details of the Draw Process
Preliminary Round Draw
Teams were allocated into groups based on seeding:
- Group A has four teams, while Groups B and C have three.
- Lithuania and San Marino were pre-selected as mini-tournament hosts and assigned to their groups based on seeding.
- Group C currently has no designated host. If no agreement is reached by November 11, UEFA will randomly assign hosting.
Main Round Draw
- Seven main round groups were formed, with the group winners advancing to join Moldova at the finals. Pre-determined mini-tournament hosts were selected based on their coefficients, including Portugal, Croatia, Czechia, Latvia, Serbia, Hungary, and Slovakia.
- Seeding and Group Allocation
- Pot 1 (Main Round Hosts): Determined top-seeded teams and mini-tournament hosts.
- Pot 2-5: Included lower-seeded and preliminary round winners, ensuring balanced competition across groups.
UEFA Executive Committee Restrictions
In alignment with UEFA policies, certain teams cannot face each other:
- Gibraltar vs. Spain
- Kosovo vs. Serbia
- Bosnia & Herzegovina vs. Kosovo
- Belarus vs. Ukraine
