The first ever UK Street Futsal competition launching in London on the 17th of July

The Futsal Focus Street Futsal Championship

 

At the Westway Sports & Fitness Centre’s outdoor Futsal court, a bit of history will be made for Futsal in the U.K when the first Street Futsal kicks off with clubs coming from Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. From Northern Ireland are 2020 champions Rosario Futsal Club, and from Scotland, 2020 champions Perth Youth Saltires. The clubs from England you will find the in table below which includes this year’s FA National Futsal Series Summer Showdown Finalists/ runners-up, Bloomsbury Futsal (Previously known as ProFutsal London).

The competition is made up of two groups of 5 teams, each group will have 4 games each, 20 minutes long, FIFA rules will apply. However, the group stages will not have a time out. 1 minute time-out will be allowed in the final stages, and any games that finish with a draw will be decided by penalties.

The groups for the competition are:

Group A  Group B
Birmingham WVL Futsal Rosario Futsal Club
Perth Youth Saltires Reading Royals Futsal Club
Aylesbury Futsal Club Bloomsbury Futsal
GiveMeSport Bedford Futsal Club
Newham Futsal Club Cambridge Futsal Club

The competition starts at 8:30 am with an opening ceremony, there will be a 15 minute warm up session and team talks for the starting teams. The competition will kick off at 9 am with Group A between GiveMeSport and Newham Futsal Club.

The next fixtures to get the ball rolling will be:

  • Perth Youth Saltires v Birmingham WVL Futsal
  • Reading Royals Futsal Club v Bedford Futsal Club
  • Bloomsbury Futsal v Cambridge Futsal Club
  • Aylesbury Futsal Club v GiveMeSport

There is a range of experience on the court for this Saturday, it will be interesting to see how each teams perform and no doubt we will have a few surprises.
