The Ford Futsal SuperLeague represents the highest level of domestic futsal competition in Aotearoa New Zealand. In the men’s competition, defending champions Auckland City will be aiming to retain their title. In the women’s competition, Papakura City and East Coast Bays will be joining as new teams for the 2022 edition.

The 2022 competition was rearranged from February to November due to Covid-19 after consultation with futsal stakeholders. Teams from all six New Zealand Football federations were offered the chance to join but not all were able to take up the opportunity.

Resene has signed on to become an official partner for New Zealand Football’s National League and Ford Futsal SuperLeague, supporting the top two football and futsal competitions in Aotearoa.

Resene will be a partner across the National League system (Northern League, Central League, Southern League and National League Championship) and the Ford Futsal SuperLeague. In addition, Resene will also have a presence at home international fixtures for the All Whites and Ford Football Ferns.

Along with being an official partner, Resene will also be bringing the colour as the official Golden Boot sponsor across the men’s and women’s domestic competitions (with the trophies of course decorated in Resene Gold paint).

“It’s great to have a partner like Resene involved in supporting top-tier football and futsal in New Zealand” says James Wear, GM Brand and Partnerships at New Zealand Football.

“Football and futsal are growing rapidly, and it is only going to increase with the FIFA Women’s World Cup next year, so now is the perfect time for brands to get involved to maximise the opportunities to support the game.”

Nick Nightingale, Resene Managing Director says:

“Resene started from humble beginnings in a Wellington garage in 1946 and still designs and makes our paint here. We have enjoyed support from so many New Zealanders all over the country that have helped us to grow and we, in turn, enjoy working with other Kiwis and organisations to help support them to be the best they can be.”
