Swieqi United Futsal emerged victorious in the Enemed Women’s Trophy in Malta, securing the title by defeating Lija Athletics A with a commanding 4-1 scoreline in the final showdown held at the San Aloysius Pavillion.

From the onset, Swieqi United Futsal showcased their dominance on the court, leaving no room for doubt regarding their superiority. Despite Lija Athletics A’s efforts, they struggled to thwart Swieqi’s relentless offensive prowess.

The Owls took the lead merely six minutes into the game, courtesy of a well-executed strike by Danna Fuentes, who capitalized on an opportunity to send the ball past Daniela Mativa with a precision low shot.

With seconds remaining in the first half, Lija Athletics A had a prime opportunity to level the score as they were granted a penalty. However, their hopes were dashed as Swieqi’s goalkeeper, Christiana Pisani, brilliantly denied Ruth Steer Cheetham’s attempt, maintaining Swieqi’s lead.

Entering the second half, Swieqi United Futsal continued to assert their dominance on the court. Danna Fuentes once again showcased her scoring prowess, finding the back of the net in the 31st minute to extend Swieqi’s lead.

Ten minutes later, Andjela Kricak further solidified Swieqi’s advantage, slotting home from close range to make it 3-0, leaving Lija Athletics A with a daunting task ahead.
