Thailand futsal team appoints a coach once considered one of the top 6 coaches in the world

The Thai Football Federation has appointed coach Carlos César Nunez Gago as the head coach of the Thai futsal team.

 

To prepare for major tournaments in 2022, the Thai futsal team has appointed Spanish strategist Carlos Cesar Nunez Gago as their new coach.

Carlos has worked in many countries, coaching and developing futsal in Europe such as Italy and Spain. He also had time to lead a number of notable teams such as Bardral Urayasu in Japan, and Al Rayyan SC – Qatar’s futsal team before moving to Thailand.

The Spanish coach started his journey with Thai futsal on October 4, 2019 at Bluewave Chonburi. After two seasons with Chonburi, coach Carlos won the Thai futsal tournament in the 2020 and 2021/2022 seasons and won the AFF Futsal Club Championship in 2021.

With the success in the Chonburi shirt, the Thai Football Federation decided to appoint Carlos as the head coach of the Thai futsal team. This year, he will lead the Golden Temple team will participate in three tournaments including: SDF Futsal Invitational in Thailand (March 15-21), AFF Futsal Cup (April 3-12) and SEA Games 2022 (Vietnam, 12-April). His predecessor, coach Pulpis, led the Thai futsal team to the knockout round of the 2021 futsal World Cup in Lithuania. Interestingly, Mr. Pulpis also led Chonburi Bluewave to win the AFC Futsal Club Championship.

With my knowledge of Thai futsal, I am confident that I will bring success to the national team in the next tournaments.
