Carlisle Futsal Club claims second place in Spanish Futsal cup

A futsal club based in Carlisle has secured the second position in a prestigious Spanish youth cup competition.

Participating in the Valencia Futsal Cup held in Blanes from Friday, June 30th, to Monday, July 3rd, Carlisle Futsal Club displayed an impressive performance. The team, comprising 14 members aged between 11 and 14, successfully advanced through the group stages, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, only to be defeated in the final by Covisa Manresa FS. Although the final loss brought disappointment, Alan (Al) Tindall, the coach of Carlisle Futsal Club, expressed immense pride in his team. He acknowledged the formidable opponents they faced, the champions from Catalonia, and emphasized the incredible experience gained from the tournament.

Tindall speaking to News Star – The Cumberland News stated, “Our players showcased exceptional skills both on and off the court. Not only did they exhibit great behavior and team spirit throughout our stay in the hotel, but they also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different culture.”

He further added, “From a futsal perspective, this experience provided valuable education and will greatly contribute to our future training sessions.”

Such trips undertaken by Carlisle Futsal Club enable the coaches to educate their players and expose them to the diverse approaches to the game embraced by teams from other countries
