The Pacific Palms Public School futsal team traveled to Port Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia to represent the school in the State Futsal Champions of Champions competition recently.

Despite fielding a young side, the team displayed great skill and teamwork to dominate the pool games, winning three out of four games. Moving through to the semi-finals they came up against Manning Valley Anglican College in a nail-biter. At full time the scores were locked at one apiece.

A thrilling penalty shootout followed, with Palms running out winners. The side progressed to the final however were not able to overcome the stronger side of Camden High School.

The entire side should be proud of their efforts and the way they represented the school with such excellence. Special thanks to Pete Masterantonio for his support in coaching the side and to the parents who assisted with travel.

After qualifying for the Australasian Futsal Champion of Champions the team is now busy planning a trip to QLD in November to compete in the next round of competition.
