Allianz PNB Life was awarded a Silver Award in the “Best Youth Sports Development Program” category for its futsal program at the Sports Industry Awards (SPIA) at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City.

“We at Allianz believe that engaging in sports is a good way for children to learn discipline and achieve their dreams. With this award, we are further affirming our commitment to continue to provide a venue for Filipino kids to be trained in the sport of futsal or football under the best coaches, so they can reach their goal of playing as world-class professional football or Futsal players, ”Said Gae Martinez, chief marketing officer of Allianz PNB Life.

More than 7,000 youths are participating in ANYFI and many of them are already playing in the national competition and the national team.

Martinez boasts two ANYFI ‘graduates’ Konrad Keim Sollorin and JM Mitra who have played overseas. Sollorin is now playing for Sevenoaks Senior College in Australia while Mitra is a member of the Los Angeles Surf Soccer Club in the US.

“Futsal and football’s progress in the country continues, and we are excited to see more kids getting into the sport and showing the world that they can compete with the best,” Martinez added.

This is the second year SPIA has honored ANYFI. It first won a silver medal for the “Best Sports CSR” category.

Aside from ANYFI, boxing legend Sen was also honored at the SPIA Asia Awards. Manny Pacquiao in the “Best Asian Sportsman of the Year” category and tennis grand slam champion Naomi Osaka as “Best Asian Sportswoman of the Year.”
