The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has named Salifu Zida as Chairman of the Futsal National Team Management Committee.

The Upper East Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairman was also elected in December to the executive council of the Ghana Football Association and he will be working with Osei Ameyaw as his vice on the Futsal Committee which will be expected to develop the sport across the country. Other members of the committee are Tony Aubyn, Charles K. Ntim, Ibrahim Seidu, and James Assirifi.

Currently, countries such as Zambia, South Africa, Egypt, Angola, Mozambique, Morocco, and Libya have Futsal national teams and development programmes. It will be interesting to see how many more Association announce Futsal development plans in Africa especially now that the Youth Olympics in Senegal in 2022 will feature Futsal.
