Howard Willmott, Elite Squad (U21) Manager at AFC Rushden and Diamonds FC and a UEFA A Licenced Coach who provides a programme that will enhance the U21 player’s opportunities to progress to the AFC Rushden and Diamonds FC first team and reach their potential.

If you don’t know who AFC Rushden and Diamonds FC were promoted last year to the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central and currently sit sixth in the league table, 3 points from a promotional play-off place. Promotion from this league would take the club to step two in the National League Structure which would see them in the Vanarama National League South.  Howard has an appreciation for Futsal and posted this video on his Linkedin page commenting:

“One of the big misconceptions is that futsal is for the skilful players who are a bit of a soft touch. While technical ability is needed, its a game of epic RESPONSIBILITY and CONSEQUENCE. ”

“Defend your own line, counter-attack, recover back to your own line. This is the importance of futsal in player development and this is why adhering to a strength and conditioning regime to accompany this development is also essential. The wonderful lesson of hard work.”

Former Scotland National Futsal Head Coach, Mark Potter commented “Couldn’t agree more. Lots of misconceptions about Futsal usually spouted by those that haven’t played the game. Every action has a consequence. Nicely put Howard Willmott.”
